Platf9rm

Platf9rm opened their doors in 2016 to create a wonderful and welcoming workspace, but they struggled with the temperature variations across both their sites in Tower Point and Hove Town Hall, which made adding green accents tricky.

“Heidi is a joy to work with, and no ask is too big. We took her on as maintenance of the plants in our workspace, which are honestly just thriving under a watchful eye. Heidi is extremely reliable, flexible and is happy to help whenever asked.”

— Leanne Doutré, Operations Manager, PLATF9RM

The brief

Platf9rm has two very architecturally strong sites, with dynamic designs from Rich Brett at We Like Today.

Tower Point opened in 2016, but lacked any lasting greenery due to fluctuating temperatures and tricky conditions.

In March 2019, Platf9rm expanded to the ground floor of Hove Town Hall. This brutalist building also lent itself to co-working fantastically, but it required substantial softening with planting to bring the homely community feel.

The result

We worked closely with the team at Platf9rm to understand their vision. Delivering this at Tower Point was challenging, as the building is mainly glass and suffers from huge temperature fluctuations. However, we sourced and positioned a variety of plants for their resilience, and the space is now thriving with flora.

This result is ten-fold at Hove Town Hall, where strapping five metre-high fiddle leaf fig trees stand alongside thriving monstera plants. As a member once said to us, “The plants look like they have always been here”. For a building of this stature and scale, we’re proud to have made such an impact in five years.
