About Me and My Work
“Heidi has plenty of informed ideas to inspire anyone like me and carries them out with enthusiasm and good cheer. I would recommend her to anyone wishing to add some magic to their outdoor space.”

My approach
The design is always client-led, so I do an initial interview where I am doing quite a lot of subtle detective work. It’s their garden, not mine, and long after I leave, that will be what they enjoy and love. So it depends on their energy and their personality as to how their design evolves.
Turning it in to the finished piece — that’s the bit that requires lots of spreadsheets and timelines. I work with a really loyal team and they do really good work, so that’s the difficult bit sorted.
My ethos
I love that I’m always learning on my job and I’m always gaining more information and more confidence and that feels pretty great. Flowers and plants never tend to surprise me.
I’m good at what I do because I don’t leave a stone unturned. I’m a bit of a terrier where I will not stop until I’ve resolved a problem or got something really good, and I’ve built my design career around that.
The future’s exciting. I feel I’ve gained a good knowledge of my subject over the last fourteen years and now it’s time to take that forward and share it with people and create spaces that people love.
